Position Statement:

Sexual misconduct will not be excused or tolerated at Washington State University. The University is required by the 1992 Federal Higher Education Act Amendment to adopt policies and programs aimed at prevention and response. Washington State criminal and civil laws and WSU’s Standards of Conduct for Students are enforced.

WSU has adopted measures to educate the campus community and protocols to assist victims. Special emphasis is placed on the needs, rights and privacy of the victim and due process for offenders. The University is dedicated to maintaining a quality living and learning environment which encourages personal integrity, good decision-making, cooperative rather than coercive interpersonal behavior, and respect for the rights of others.
